Service Statement for Victims of Crime
This service statement allows victims of crime to learn more about the services we offer, our commitments to them, and how to file a complaint if they are dissatisfied.

Éducaloi is a neutral and independent organization. Our mission is to explain the law to Quebecers in everyday language and enhance their legal competencies. Thus, our vision is to promote greater autonomy in legal matters for individuals and communities.

2. The people covered by our service statement
This service statement is intended for you if you are a victim of crime. Therefore, it is for you if you have suffered physical or psychological harm or material loss as a result of a crime. The offence may have been committed against you or another person.
This statement applies to you even if the person who committed the crime has not been identified.
3. The services we offer
Éducaloi can help you by providing the following (free of charge):
- General legal information in a simple and accessible language. This legal information is also up-to-date and reliable, covering various legal topics. Our goal is to make the law more accessible and to contribute to improving access to justice.
- Educational tools adapted to your reality as a victim of a crime. They can be:
- articles on our website,
- guides and pamphlets in print and online,
- information sessions in person or online (Zoom, Teams).
However, Éducaloi does not offer personalized legal information. Éducaloi does not offer legal advice and its offices are not open to the public.
4. Our commitments to you
Éducaloi is committed to:
- putting you at the center of the projects and tools we provide,
- treating you with kindness, courtesy, fairness, and understanding,
- respecting your dignity and your private life in our dealings with you,
- listening to you to improve our current tools and to create new ones that will be able to meet your needs even better,
- offering training and coaching to our team members to make them aware of the realities and varied needs of individuals and communities in Québec.
5. Our complaint mechanism
Éducaloi takes the quality of our services seriously. As such, we would like to give you the opportunity to make a complaint about our services, if necessary.
Please note, however, that it is not Éducaloi’s role to handle complaints about one of our partner organizations. In these situations, you must instead submit your complaint to that other organization.

To submit your complaint, you must complete the following form. Please note that all information you provide will remain confidential.

You have the right to be informed of the outcome of your complaint. Éducaloi undertakes to inform you within a maximum of 45 days.
