Éducaloi is pleased to announce the publication of the 2018 Clarity conference proceedings. The proceedings were made possible with the support of the Quebec Bar Foundation. They are available on the Clarity 2018 website and on Éducaloi’s website, ensuring lasting access.

“The collaboration between Clarity International and Éducaloi was a natural alliance, as our respective missions aim to promote clear communication. Now, thanks to the support of the Quebec Bar Foundation, the official proceedings are being published. This culmination of a winning collaboration will help a wider audience expand their legal communication skills.”

– Ms. Ariane Charbonneau, Éducaloi Executive Director

“The Quebec Bar Foundation is proud to partner in the publication of the Clarity conference proceedings. This partnership reflects our mission to promote legal research and underlines our support of Éducaloi’s mission. We believe that clear legal communication plays a key role in increasing access to justice. The advancement of legal knowledge is also a determining factor in improving the administration of justice.”

– Me Tamara Davis, Chief Executive Officer, Quebec Bar Foundation

Clarity was held last year in Montreal, from October 25 to 27, 2018, under the theme “Plain Language in Modern Times.” Éducaloi and Clarity International teamed up for the event, welcoming 550 participants from 20 countries. Participants included representatives from the areas of justice, business, government, education and the non-profit sector. The event’s program comprised more than 70 conferences and workshops, given by more than 100 speakers. Canada’s Chief Justice, The Right Honourable Richard Wagner, and Quebec Justice Minister Ms. Sonia LeBel––newly appointed at the time––were present for the event and guests of honour.

500 Days for Justice

The 2018 Clarity conference served as the official launch for Éducaloi’s fundraising campaign: 500 jours pour la justice. The goal of the campaign is to raise $250,000 in net profits to strengthen legal education for youth, seniors and new arrivals to Canada. The campaign will end on March 18, 2020, with a benefit evening celebrating Éducaloi’s 20th anniversary.   Éducaloi will announce details for this event shortly.

As part of its fundraising campaign, Éducaloi is also running a new advertising initiative this October. The initiative aims to raise awareness about Éducaloi’s mission with the general public.
