As a plain language specialist and translator, Jennifer creates and develops legal content and information tools for Quebec’s English-speaking communities. She is also responsable for the continual updating of Éducaloi’s content, keeping a close eye on changes to the law.
Before becoming a lawyer, Jennifer was an Associate Professor of English Literature. A specialist of Shakespeare and Quebec drama, about which she published a book and numerous academic articles, she also taught Digital Humanities and Women’s and Gender Studies.
Holding a PhD from McGill University, where she was a postdoctoral research fellow and a course instructor, she also earned degrees in civil law and common law from this university. While clerking in the Court of Quebec’s Criminal and Penal Division, she was able to witness the law’s effects on people’s everyday lives. Having previously worked as a student member of the team in 2017, she rejoined Éducaloi in 2020, the same year that she was admitted to the Barreau du Québec.
Intellectually rigorous, she harnesses her passion for education to make the law accessible to everyone.
