Me Simon du Perron, lawyer
Simon Du Perron has been a member of Éducaloi’s Board of Directors since June 2026.
At his dinner table, he would have Richard Desjardins, Dédé Fortin and Karl Tremblay over a meal.
A memorable film : Café de Flore by Jean-Marc Vallée.
A historical event that he wished he had lived is the Pink Floyd concert at the Olympic Stadium, in 1977.
Simon is a Practice Leader in Data Protection at Desjardins. In his daily life, he ensures compliance with obligations and best practices regarding privacy protection and artificial intelligence governance.
With a master’s degree in information technology law from Université de Montréal, Simon has developped a passion for the challenge posed by applying the law to new technologies. For him, regulating technology is not a barrier, but rather a driver of innovation and the common good. In fact, he published a book at LexisNexis on the application of privacy rights to big data and artificial intelligence.
With the rise of artificial intelligence, he wants to support Éducaloi in addressing digital challenges. He also hopes to use his expertise to make legal information more accessible to the people of Quebec.
For Simon, who previously completed an internship at Éducaloi while he was a student, getting involved with Éducaloi is natural. In fact, during his time in college, he created a platform for sharing class notes. This anecdote illustrates how important it is to him to make knowledge and the law accessible to everyone.
