Mélanie Sayoto-Poulin

Communications and Marketing Coordinator

Mélanie develops and implements communication and marketing strategies for projects supporting English-speaking communities.

Three things to know about Melanie

The last book she’s read: Dear Ijeawele, or A Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions, by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Who she'd enjoy dining with? Jo-Anne McArthur, Melanie Joy and Bell Hooks

Her historic event: The enactment of the Animal Welfare and Safety Act, a law that redefines animals as sentient beings with biological needs and feelings

Before joining Éducaloi, Mélanie worked in the marketing and social media sector to support animal and environmental causes. Her role included managing digital content and developing communication plans for fundraising and various projects.

With a Bachelor of Commerce and a major in marketing, Mélanie uses her creativity to bring forth the mission of organizations, to raise funds and to attract volunteers and supporters. What she loves? Creating content and organizing meaningful campaigns to support those who cannot afford to advocate for themselves. In her spare time, Mélanie volunteers for Droit Animalier Québec (DAQ), a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of animal rights.

Mélanie believes in the mission of explaining the law to Quebecers in everyday language and equipping them to be more active, aware, and able to recognize legal aspects. She hopes to improve public welfare by making the law more accessible, as well as inspiring compassion and action.
